As part of the BRAIDOTTI SUMMER SCHOOL, I will present on
“Exploring music for mourning. The twinned processes of composition and decomposition as an affirmative approach towards death and dying.“

SYNOPSIS
I will explore possible affirmative approaches towards death and loss. Drawing on my work as a composer, I explore aspects of music created around dying and mourning across various cultures and traditions. I will clarify their potential as rituals and introduce my own secular requiem BARE BRANCHES (2012). An investigation on decomposition and composition will complete the presentation.
